Information for Attorneys

Enrolling in treatment prior to appearing in court for sentencing may help place clients in a more favorable position.  Genesis Counseling offers pre-sentence Substance Abuse Evaluations as well as individual and group counseling for individuals who are facing legal charges, but who have not been sentenced by the courts.  A Pre-Sentence Evaluation may help direct treatment and support a client’s legal position.  Individual and/or group counseling may offer the client support (as they are often under stress and experience low self-esteem).  An argument may also be made that by enrolling in treatment prior to sentencing a client is demonstrating a willingness to accept responsibility and accountability for their actions. 

Genesis Counseling also offers court testimony on behalf of the client upon request. *
